Social Responsibility

For Roche, supporting scientific, social, humanitarian and cultural projects – in Switzerland and abroad – is an integral part of its role as a corporate citizen:

Roche Commissions

In 2003 Roche, the Lucerne Festival, the Cleveland Orchestra and Carnegie Hall entered into a pioneering international partnership for the advancement of the arts. Under the terms of the partnership, Roche regularly commissions a new work from an outstanding contemporary composer. Each work is premiered at the Lucerne Festival, Summer followed by a US premiere at Carnegie Hall New York City.

For the Lucerne Festival in Summer 2011, Roche offers students and employees a 50 % discount for selected concerts. The reference numbers for these concerts are as follows: 615, 618, 622, 633, 638, 642, 648, 651, 654, 664, 669, 672. For detailed information, see www.lucernefestival.ch

If you are eligible for discounted tickets and want to make a booking, please directly contact the Lucerne Festival staff via info@lucernefestival.ch

Museum Tinguely

Museum Tinguely

Roche founded – and continues to fund – the Museum Tinguely as a gift to the city of Basel. Roche’n’Jazz concerts are held at the museum every month, in partnership with the Basel bird’s eye jazz club. The company thus contributes significantly to the city’s rich cultural life.

Protecting nature and the environment in Buonas

Buenas, Zug

Roche and Canton Zug are engaged in a joint reed protection project in Buonas: reed beds have been planted on the Buonas peninsula on the shore of Lake Zug. The reeds native to this wetland area are a valuable component of the ecosystem, and the reed beds can now be further expanded. Roche has set itself the goal of honouring and preserving Buonas’ cultural and scenic heritage, and it is therefore pleased to be able to support the Canton Zug Reed Protection Working Group.

Roche has traditionally played a major part in promoting green technologies and minimising adverse impacts on the environment.
