Project Outline & Motivation:
Within Roche R&D departments there is the need to have a test bench to improve the modular development of our diagnostics systems and the drives used in those systems. The project aims to develop a full motor test bench from scratch, from the SW user interface, through the electrical network up until the mechanical setup. The project will be performed in a team with a mechanical engineer.
Concrete Objectives & Tasks:
Development of a GUI for user interaction with the bench
Linking of the GUI to the bench controller for seamless integration with the bench
Development of data analysis tool
Adjustment of existing controller firmware to the specific application and deployment on the final target controller
Cowork with the mechanical engineer to integrate the Software domain with the electrical network of the bench
Student Profile / Requirements:
Software engineering or similar experience is required
Experience with Python programming
Experience with GUI creation
Experience in Firmware development is preferred
Understanding of peripheral control
Willingness to contribute to electrical design of the bench
Interest in the electronics/mechanics world
Team Player
Fluent in English (B2/C1). German understanding is preferred (B2/B1)
