Creating Opportunities Step by Step: The Children's Walk 2026
:quality(90)/)
Once again this year, employees across Switzerland demonstrated outstanding athletic dedication and team spirit during the Roche Children's Walk. In Rotkreuz, 320 colleagues walked to the Buonas peninsula for a good cause despite changing weather conditions. In Basel and Kaiseraugst, a total of 760 employees sent a strong message of solidarity. Alongside the walk in Kaiseraugst, 419 participants took on the Tower Run in Basel. Competing individually, they conquered the 47 floors of Building 2—Switzerland's tallest building—or completed the ascent of Building 1 together as relay teams.
Global Reach and Sustainable Impact
The Children's Walk is Roche's largest employee engagement program. It aims to strengthen communities worldwide and provide children with a better future. Since the initiative's inception in 2003, more than 370,000 Roche employees globally have participated to achieve this very goal.
Meaningful Support That Delivers: Roche Employee Action and Charity Trust (Re&Act)
To ensure our support reaches those who need it most, the independent foundation Roche Employee Action and Charity Trust (Re&Act) stands at the core of our engagement. Re&Act carefully selects partner organizations and strategically channels our contributions. Through this approach, we have helped establish over 1,000 initiatives in more than 75 countries, providing children with improved nutrition, basic healthcare, and educational support.
The impact of Re&Act’s partners is immense:
Together with UNICEF, we reach over 450,000 children in Ethiopia, Malawi, Nepal, and the Philippines, actively empowering them through educational programs.
Child’s Dream builds new classrooms and computer labs while providing scholarships, benefiting 8,000 children in Cambodia.
A special highlight this year: For the first time, Re&Act is directly supporting local projects in Switzerland. Together with the Federer Foundation and other partners, we are committed to creating nature-oriented playgrounds and recreational spaces across the country. This initiative will benefit around 40,000 children nationwide, providing them with more space for physical activity and outdoor experiences.
The 2026 Children's Walk has proven once again: When we come together as a Roche community, we can strengthen communities globally and make a sustainable difference in the future of the next generation.
