National Future Day 2024: A day full of discoveries and enthusiasm

On Thursday, 14 November 2024, it was that time again: For the National Future Day, Roche in Switzerland opened the doors for more than 850 children attending 5th to 7th school grade. This annual project, organized by the equality specialized units and commissions of Switzerland, aims to give young people the courage and confidence to choose their careers and to plan their lives.

This year, the children of the Roche staff experienced an event program that reflected the diversity and innovative power of the company. From market stalls to topics such as Instrument Operations or Roche Molecular Diagnostics, to interactive workshops, such as cyber security and artificial intelligence, to creative projects in the Virtual Factory - curiosity has been ubiquitous. In exciting laboratory experiments, children and parents were able to experiment and research together, which led to astonishing faces and shared aha moments.

The positive energy of the day was evident in the children's bright eyes and the fascinating questions they asked. It has become clear that such a day is more than just an introduction to the world of work - it is an opportunity to broaden horizons, to regain confidence and to gain a new perspective on job opportunities. What started out as a cautious interest quickly became a real enthusiasm and ensured that this day would be remembered for both the children and for us as a company.

A day that shows: We shape the future together - with courage, curiosity and team spirit. We look forward to next year's Future Day to inspire the young generation for their professional future!
