Behind the scenes: Highlights from Visitor Day 2026 in Rotkreuz

With over 2,900 employees from nearly 80 nations, Roche in Rotkreuz is not only a cultural melting pot – we are also the largest private employer in the Canton of Zug. For an entire afternoon, just under 60 visitors experienced first-hand how our team works every day to shape the future of healthcare.

Following a brief welcome and general introduction, participants joined guided tours in smaller groups to gain further fascinating insights into our site and activities.

Hands-on precision medicine

Over 70 per cent of all medical decisions are based on diagnostic results. In our showroom, guests saw first-hand what this means in practice: from innovative solutions for women’s health to highly complex analytical procedures, it became clear how modern diagnostic solutions bring clarity where there is uncertainty, keeping the individual and their specific needs right at the centre.

Local production, global healthcare supply

With Swiss precision and reliability, we ensure a stable global healthcare supply from Rotkreuz while strengthening the local economy. By manufacturing highly complex diagnostic systems and a wide range of test procedures, we deliver cutting-edge medicine "made in Rotkreuz" for use in hospitals and laboratories worldwide.

Responsibility for the region and the environment

As the largest training provider in the region, Roche currently supports around 170 apprentices embarking on their professional careers. However, our social responsibility goes far beyond vocational training: the Rotkreuz campus aims to achieve complete carbon neutrality by 2030. For example, participants learned how our buildings are operated sustainably and which solutions we are using to positively influence mobility in the region.
