National Future Day is an annual project and the dreamchild of Switzerland's gender equality units and commissions. The ambition behind the project is to shape the future. Girls and boys in years 5 to 7 switched gender-typical roles, giving them the opportunity to get to know fields of work and areas of life not typical for their gender - a valuable experience for all. Future Day helps children be bold and self-confident in their career choices and life planning, regardless of gender. It is a collaborative project between schools, the workplace and home.
Roche Basel and Kaiseraugst devised a comprehensive programme of events for National Future Day. Future Day not only gave the kids the chance to discover their talents, but also gave them an inspiring insight into what makes Roche a company. From interactive workshops to fascinating presentations, our young guests were able to get to know various aspects of working at Roche. The positive atmosphere and the curious faces were a great testament to the fun and enthusiasm at the site. The wide range of activities enabled the children to have fun exploring the many different professional opportunities. The positive energy that day was also a reminder of how important it is to foster an environment that is comfortable for employees and their families alike.
