Throughout the event, a networking spirit thrived. Thirty-two young innovators from 17 diverse nations showcased an array of groundbreaking projects ranging from "Green Software Building" in Switzerland to "Mobility for Women's Health" in Brazil. The students delivered a big impact, challenging traditional paradigms and spurring sustainable actions.
Roche leaders, including Silke Hörnstein (Head of Corporate Strategy, Sustainability & Sites), Teresa Graham (CEO Roche Pharmaceuticals), Barbara Schädler (Head of Group Communications), and André Hoffmann (Vice-Chairman of Roche and IP2TIS patron), enriched the event with their invaluable insights. The summit also featured an interactive Lunch & Learn poster session, enabling direct interactions with our internship students.
Conceived in 2021 and sponsored by André Hoffmann, IP2TIS has matured into a vibrant global internship program. At its core, it's a meeting ground for innovative projects and fervent international students eager to pioneer ideas that can revolutionize the world. Aligned with Roche's dedication to making a lasting positive impact on society, IP2TIS values innovation, sustainability, and challenging the status quo. Tailored for adept Master's and MBA students, the program runs from July to September each year, granting them unparalleled access to Roche’s expertise.
From the start, each project receives support to develop a viable prototype. IP2TIS is more than an internship; it's an incubator, offering budding talents a nurturing space to breathe life into transformative ideas. This initiative strengthens Roche's talent pool, granting participants a glimpse into a potential career with the company and fostering a culture grounded in curiosity, collaboration, and ingenuity.
The climax of this year’s program is the summit week, where the interns are meeting in Basel and are given the opportunity to pitch their concepts to Roche's decision-makers. IP2TIS 2023's primary mission was clear: galvanize attendees to become agents of change in their domains. Roche takes pride in this endeavor, investing in the next generation of innovators and nurturing a cohort of potential change-makers.
