Live Well Weeks 2025: Well-being in the workplace as the basis for success

‘Health is not everything, but without health, everything is nothing,’ philosopher Arthur Schopenhauer is said to have remarked back in the 18th century – and his statement is more relevant today than ever. For us at Roche, the health of our employees is also one of our most valuable assets. Only by making the well-being of our employees our top priority can we realise our full potential as an organisation. That is why we held our Live Well Weeks again this year. Employees were able to take advantage of a wide range of activities to recharge their batteries, develop their skills and gain inspiration for their personal and professional future.

At Roche, the wellbeing of our employees is particularly important to us as an employer. We firmly believe that our organisation can only thrive if our employees do too. The wellbeing of our employees is the foundation for sustainable excellence and personal development. For this reason, during the Live Well Weeks from 15 to 26 September 2025, employees were invited to consciously take time to learn new things, exchange ideas and initiate sustainable changes for their health and performance. Under the motto ‘Be Well To Do Well – Creating a Healthier Future Together’, they were able to participate in a variety of global and local events based on the four pillars of mental health, leadership, nutrition, and inclusion and belonging. At Roche in Switzerland, for example, employees were able to prioritise their well-being with cooking and tennis taster courses, yoga and Pilates classes, and last but not least, forest bathing and interesting virtual lectures and workshops on topics such as resilience, sustainable nutrition, healthy sleep and smart working.

Well-being as a sustainable culture for long-term success

The well-being of our employees is firmly anchored in our culture – not just as a fortnightly event, but as a daily practice. Our efforts to ensure the wellbeing of our employees are an important part of our benefits and sustainability strategy, as well as an expression of our appreciation for their tireless dedication. That's why, in addition to the Live Well Weeks events, employees have access to programmes throughout the year that help them develop healthy habits and integrate them into their everyday lives. Because wellbeing is not a luxury, but a necessity.
